Our society has a serious problem with plastic consumption. We use so much of it that we can't deal without it. The video showed how a man challenged himself to live plastic free for a month. It wasn’t easy because nowadays most of food products are wrapped in plastic. There is also a problem with expenses because usually eco food is more expensive but sometimes it's cheaper e.g. buying coffee in your own reusable cup gives you discount.   Nowadays we're dependent on big industries and I think that it's a problem. Usually we have to buy food that shops provides us but it's getting less healthy because it's mass grown and polluted by dangerous chemicals. Whereas, if it's organic, it's usually more expensive. This video showed that fast fashion has a huge impact on polluting our planet. This happens because of the amount of clothing that we produce every year which is unnecessary because in many cases we throw unused clothes away. It's also a waste of material and human work. The video that I watched showed how an artist Tracey Emin works every day. Though it seems obvious her work doesn't consist only of painting or drawing. She also has to do things that are related with her exhibitions and her finaces to keep her "business" running.   Lately I've been thinking about efficiency of home schooling. That's because I saw a video in which a girl said that she already graduated when she was just 15 and it was because she was home schooling not because she was some kind of genius. For me it seems really extraordinary because of her age. That on the other hand reminded me of the time when I was trying to catch up with the chemistry material last summer because I wanted to study with bio-chem class the following year. I remember that in about 4 weeks I managed to learn nearly all the material which that class did in half a year. Since I've been going to these chemistry classes I realized that sometimes we are required to learn some stuff that is completely useless like e.g. handbook definitions from which we are questioned on every lesson in front of class. Now I'm not so sure if I did the right thing to study chemistry at school because I actually might be able to study it with the same exam results and les...

   Yesterday I finished a book- Candide which in the end made me realize what is actually the most important in keeping yourself happy. It ended with the words "Let us cultivate our garden" which means to me that we have to keep ourselves busy even with simple activities to be satisfied. When I was thinking about it it reminded me of two weeks of the last summer that I spent with actually doing nothing effortable or productive. I remember that after that I felt even more lack of energy and satisfaction or happiness than if I was working really hard and was because of it exhausted. At least then I'd feel that I'm doing something important. That's why I think that these words are very accurate to nowadays world and we should keep them in mind when we e.g. complain for too much work.

  Recently my class had to read a book "Cadide". Some of us didn't have to read it because we already discussed it in secondary school with mr muszyński and I was one of those people. Unfortunately I didn't read it back then so I had to do it recently. This made me think about our attitude to things that we are somehow forced to do. I mean as far as I remember I couldn't read this book earlier because it was incredibly boring and I didn't like the language it was written by but maybe I also felt like this because it was obligatory. A lot of students don't even start or don't finish their books and I think it is partly connected with the fact that they have to do ut. Even for me-a person who likes reading it is sometimes hard to get through those books and this is certainly caused by my attitude to them. I think this is a huge problem because then we might be less keen on reading outside of school.

  Recently, I've watched quite an interesting Polish movie "Short film about killing". In my opinion it showed in a simple way how people perceive death or murder due to the person who committed the crime and the way of doing it. The main plot was about a young man who brutally killed a taxi driver. Firstly, I felt anger because all in the entire driver was an innocent man, the murderer didn't know him so he didn't seem to have a reason to commit that crime. I thought so until the next scenes showed that the man actually wanted to steal a car to go on a trip with his girlfriend. Of course this is not an excuse for his behaviour but at least it clears a little his motives. In the end the criminal confessed to his lawyer about his sad past, the fact that his friend accidently killed his sister.   Personally I have no idea why is this happening, I can't possibly imagine why people vote for poticians who are racist, intolerant or stir up violence as Bolsonaro is doing. In my opinion that kind of behaviour shows no empathy and this means that it's inhuman. Therefore there are three possible options that come to my mind which explain why that kinds of politicians are becoming popular. Firstly, people are not aware of the horrible things that he's doing e.g. they are blinded by the fake image which this person try to create. Because of their lack of political knowledge they vote for politicians that are the most popular. Second, the most obvious possible reason is that they share the same values and opinions so it makes sense that they want to be ruled by a kind of person that is similar to them. Every time I am in a modern art gallery I meet at least one person who don't know how they got in that place. They feel uncomfortable with the fact that they don't get artist intention and simply don't understand the meanings of these works of art. In the past artists had to follow specific rules which were created through the years. Basically they used to copy famoust art gurus all the time and just changed some details but the idea and topic of the painting was the same. It is also caused by the fact that old paintings are all very realistic so we know what are we looking at but from the time that impressionism appeared in the art world it started to be more complicated. I think that we should be more educated about modern art to be able to interprate it without so much effort. We should also have more guides in museum and art galleries who can tell us more about works of art.

Yesterday me and my family were at my grandma's having lunch together. There were also my grandma's older sister and her husband. On that meeting I realized that there are some huge differences between mine and my grandparent's generation. First of all, they seem to be much more open to people and they always have a topic to talk about. I think that people now use to be much more introvertic. It is probably caused by the way we communicate, it's not face to face and this makes us feel less comfortable with regular interactions. Secondly I think that in the past people used to think about family as something more valuable than teenagers think now. I know that maybe it's because we're too young and maybe it'll change over the years but still I can't stop thinking about how my family will look like when my grandparent's are gone. Last week my mum told me that maybe I like chemistry because I have it in my genes. My grandfather and grandmother were chemists so that was what she ment. After that I started thinking what actually has influence on our interests and talents and then who we become in the future. I think it is mostly an individual matter but also people surrounding us has a huge impact on this. First of all, usually we like subject not only because we're interested in this topic but also because of our teachers. It's them who makes us being motivated to learn more. Second of all, I think that our parents do have some sort of impact on our future jobs. It can be negative because e.g we want to be different from them and have completely different job or we are amazed by what they do so we want to follow their steps.   On the other hand maybe we are born with talents and we just develop them during our lives. A few days ago on my Polish lesson my teacher was talking about changes in the XXth century and one of these was new short hairstyles for women, which was very controversial in that time. This topic gave me the reflection that even if a 100 years passed from that time women still have a problem to have their hair cut this way. And why is that? This is just hair, men shave their heads quite often and usually nobody cares about it. That's because through the history there had been created an ideal of a woman with long hair which was a symbol of beauty and even sexuality. If we now ask a woman to have her head shaved, she would probably answer no. I think it's because we're under the influence of public opinion and therefore forced not to stand out from the group. We're frightened from being excluded or unacceptable. We shouldn't be judged so much by our appearance but now in the XXI century this is becoming a serious problem.

  Last week when i was at my friend's house we were really depressed about the end of the holidays. While we where talking about school we figured out that maybe our usual lack of energy on the school year is related to the weather. If you think about it when we're studing it's nearly always on the cold seasons exept September, June and sometimes May. Therefore in countries where the weather is warmer students should have more energy to study. Maybe it is casused by vitamin D deficiency which is normally produced when we are on sun.

Now we live in a society addicted to internet and social media and we could assume that in some time we wouldn't need other people and everyone would live on their own. Still, we have our needs and can't live as complete individuals. Also we can see that our society is becoming more and more easily influenced by and believe in fake images created by others.

Nowadays art is different from the art that was created in the past, when everything had to be aesthetic and simply beautiful. Now artists rather try to shock us by their works. So no, art does"t have to be beautiful, but it shouldn't be ugly either. I think that when a work of art is intryguing it just doesn't matter if it's ugly or beautiful because we don't think about it that way. But it's just my opinion, maybe for lots of people it is important.
