Reflection 4


Yesterday me and my family were at my grandma's having lunch together. There were also my grandma's older sister and her husband. On that meeting I realized that there are some huge differences between mine and my grandparent's generation. First of all, they seem to be much more open to people and they always have a topic to talk about. I think that people now use to be much more introvertic. It is probably caused by the way we communicate, it's not face to face and this makes us feel less comfortable with regular interactions.
Secondly I think that in the past people used to think about family as something more valuable than teenagers think now. I know that maybe it's because we're too young and maybe it'll change over the years but still I can't stop thinking about how my family will look like when my grandparent's are gone. I mean I am afraid that they're the only ones that that keep us together.
  I hope that I'm generalising and in other families it looks different because it would be terrible if the idea of intagrated family will fade away.

    What about your parents' generation? Are they more like your grandparents or like you?

    I think it will all change when you grow older. And it for sure depends on with who you talk.

                               GUERNICA As a conclusion of the topic about Picasso I decided to write about Guernica. It's a painting which Pablo painted in 1937 and now it's known at the global scale. It's probably one of the most famous paintings of Picasso. It is 349 cm high and 776 cm wide, so it's more like a mural painting but it's not on the wall but on a huge canvas. The whole process of creating was documented by a photographer who he dated then, Dora Maar. It can be know admired in the National Museum of Art in Madrid with her photos. The history of the masterpiece refers to the bomb that was dropped at a village in the North of Spain, Guernica. It caused a lot of damage including killing many civils. Is it possible to live plastic free?

Our society has a serious problem with plastic consumption. We use so much of it that we can't deal without it. The video showed how a man challenged himself to live plastic free for a month. It wasn’t easy because nowadays most of food products are wrapped in plastic. There is also a problem with expenses because usually eco food is more expensive but sometimes it's cheaper e.g. buying coffee in your own reusable cup gives you discount. I think that regardless of the difficulty we should try to use less plastic to protect the environment but probably it's not possible to live completely free of it. words: penalty, incentive, to throw oneself into sth I threw myself into that work and couldn't stop doing it. Tracey Emin- What do artists do all day?

The video that I watched showed how an artist Tracey Emin works every day. Though it seems obvious her work doesn't consist only of painting or drawing. She also has to do things that are related with her exhibitions and her finaces to keep her "business" running. She often travels to other countries when she's having exhibitions or she gives lectures and by the way visits museums to get some inspiration for new paintings. words: without a doubt, rush up, over-the-topic Without a doubt global warming is caused by humans.
